Field Technician

Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

This position reports to the President and is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in the areas of Environmental, Health, and Safety, implementation of company safety standards, coaching and training of personnel, and delivering sustained improvements in performance.  The person in this role also works closely with the Operations Managers, Lead Technicians, General Managers, and Administrator.

Extensive knowledge of OSHA and Pipeline Integrity Standards including OQ and DOT including PHMSA drug and alcohol testing requirements.  Working knowledge of Coast Guard, NFPA, DISA drug testing and ISNetworld required. Key responsibilities include:  assure compliance in all areas of Environmental, Health, and Safety including applicable safety councils, ISNetWorld (customer requirements database), PEC Premier (customer requirements database), Veriforce (customer requirements database), PICS (customer requirements database), NCMS (drug testing consortium DOT and NON-DOT), First Advantage background checks and drug and alcohol testing, SAFER WEB (US DOT compliance center), and TXDOT (Texas Motor Carrier registration and compliance); develop and implement procedures and train co-workers to assure compliance with regulations and procedures as well as perform compliance audits; provide support to field, as needed, to develop safe work practices; develop and implement behavior-based safety processes to reduce potential for workplace accidents and incidents; lead the Alpha Safety Committee and drive associate involvement; and lead incident investigations and recommends corrective measures.

Person must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with broad range of clients and co-workers.  Strong MS Office computer skills required; advanced understanding of Excel and databases desired.

BA or BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or similar degree with a minimum of five years of industry experience.  Oil & gas or pipeline sector experience desired (or closely related industry).  Candidates with no degree but a great deal of related experience will be considered.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.  For consideration, please forward a cover letter, resume and salary requirements to:  jobs@alphaleak.com.
